Zeeshan Sahil was born in Hyderabad, Sindh, in 1961 and wrote poems for almost forty years. He has often been praised for writing in a simple yet profound manner. Although suffering from health problems all his life, and passing at the young age of 47, Zeeshan Sahil dedicated his career to writing poetry. He has eight published collections of Urdu poetry. In 2013, the first translated book of his poems ‘Light and Heavy Things’ was published by a US-based publication.
